01
Ordinary litter
For an absorbent or odor-control household product without regulated health or pesticidal claims, start with customs classification, truthful English labeling, origin marking, composition records, and general product-safety review.
02
Antimicrobial or pesticidal claims
Claims such as killing bacteria, disinfecting, controlling pests, or preventing disease can trigger EPA review under FIFRA. Do not print the claim until US counsel or the importer confirms the route.
03
Therapeutic or ingestible claims
Claims about diagnosis, treatment, prevention, nutrition, or ingestion can move a product into FDA-regulated categories. Evaluate the exact formulation and wording before quotation approval.
04
State and channel rules
State chemical-warning, packaging, retailer, marketplace, and fulfillment requirements can add obligations beyond federal import entry.
